Republicans Symbol Welcome to Republicans Abroad
working for Americans overseas

More than six million Americans live abroad - a number larger than the populations of 24 states in the Union... Republicans Abroad represents and works to protect the interests of overseas Americans on a wide range of issues. Republicans Abroad mobilizes the support of Americans overseas to support Republican candidates in US elections.

Membership in Republicans Abroad provides a unique opportunity for Americans living overseas to communicate their concerns to Republican leaders in Washington. Republicans Abroad has fought for issues of concern to Americans abroad like repatriation issues, strong support of Section 911 foreign earned income exemption, anti-terrorism legislation, fair trade policies, and the inclusion of the expatriate population in the United States Census.

..."And where are these people to be confined, assuming some penalty other than death is meted out to any of them?  We are assured by the Attorney General that special administrative measures – so-called sam’s—will apply to them so that they will be kept in solitary confinement.  What we are not told is that these special administrative measures were supposed to apply to Richard Reid – you recall him, the fellow who tried while he was a passenger on an airplane to set fire to explosives in his shoe, the so-called shoe bomber, who probably would have succeeded had he not spent too much time walking around the wet streets of London on a rainy day – those measures were supposed to apply to him, but he brought a proceeding at the maximum security facility where he is confined, claiming that these measures interfered with his right to pray with others, and the Justice Department, under the current administration, did not contest the issue and simply agreed to lift them." Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey Speech to Republicans Abroad

..."what may be the most revealing truth: That these scientists feel the public doesn't have a right to know the basis for their climate-change predictions, even as their governments prepare staggeringly expensive legislation in response to them."

Losers: The American Public

"After the Senate voted Saturday night to pro ceed with debate on health reform, Majority Leader Harry Reid declared the public the winner. In truth, more Americans will be losers than winners." Betsy MCCaughey

..."The agenda of the left is about changing the very nature of this country, from a culture of independence to a culture of dependence on the state. As President Reagan said in his famous 1964 speech, it's "about whether we abandon the American Revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far-distant capital can plan our lives better for us than we can plan them for ourselves."Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN)

..."The Republican Party has led the efforts to get all Americans a seat at the lunch counter—from abolition to the civil rights movement to welfare reform and beyond.  But we also recognize what it will take for this and future generations to own the diner.  It’s not by empowering government but by empowering the individual.  The virtue of economic empowerment applies to all Americans.  And that’s what Republicans stand for: a party of economic empowerment for all.  We must commit ourselves to showing the many faces of the Republican Party.  We are strong because we are diverse.  And it’s through our diversity and commitment to these shared principles that we will reach out and welcome more communities into our Party.  The focus of my chairmanship will be to take this message to neighborhoods and communities across the country.  Our website is just one lever that we will use to achieve that goal." GOP Chairman Michael Steele
